Scale: A depiction of an object in which its dimensions (and those of its elements) are proportional to the actual dimensions in a predetermined ratio.  For instance, a 1 to 1 scale would be the actual size of an object.  A 1 to 2 scale would mean it is half its actual size.  This concept is very important as we study plan drawings.  All plans have a scale and it is important that you understand how it is used.  Each picture will access information on scale.
