As a construction introduction class, I look for great articles that give you the sense of how the processes of building a house "fit" together.  This is that article. It is simply written and will give you that basic knowledge of the steps to completing a build project.

Knowing the materials and how they are used is essential in the building process.  Sometimes it is as simple as knowing if the material is used on the "inside" or the "outside" of a house.  We will overview the wide variety of building materials and how they are used in a typical house.

Although the building path in residential construction has been firmly established , innovations from design, to materials, to procedures are constantly being looked at in order to sustain the future.  An integral part of this is affected by green construction and the necessity to steward our finite planetary resources----that are being used up by the construction industry.

The end result of our journey is to overview the opportunities in the construction world and to help you to be better equiped to pursue a career in that field if you so choose.  We will look at job trends, soft skills, relavant employability skills, apprenticships, and any other topic that addresses the current and ever changing job market. .
