Here are more of those problems that make your head ache----you know, the kind where you solve one part to get to the other part to get to the other part,  to get to the answer!!  Yes, word problems with math and construction----sounds pretty real life to me!  Enjoy.

 

This problem is a bid problem; involving a very true life concept of time and material job bidding. One bid is for the size and type of the job and the other is strictly an hourly rate bid.  Which one is better?  That's your question.
